Dermatology news

The congress passes, dermatology moves on: the key stories after JDP 2016, from research and guidelines to the year ahead.

The Paris Dermatology Days are not a parenthesis: they sit within a continuum of activity carried by the French Society of Dermatology throughout the year — producing guidelines, running research funding calls, sustaining working groups and professional networks. This page gathers the news that matters to the dermatology community, from the close of the congress to the deadlines now taking shape.

December 2016

Thank you, and see you in 2017

The 2016 edition welcomed 4,783 participants across 181 sessions. Running alongside the CARD congress, widely appreciated, will be continued in the next edition, whose preparation has already begun.

Research

440,000 euros for 21 projects

More than 440,000 euros were raised in 2016 for dermatology research. Two calls for proposals will fund 21 projects in 2017, from fundamental work to clinical studies.

Epidemiology

Objectifs Peau enters its active phase

The major prevalence study presented at FORUM 14 is moving forward: the goal is robust French data on how often skin diseases occur.

Education

Call for FMC sessions for JDP 2017

A topic, a method, a team? Proposals for FMC courses, forums and workshops for the next edition are expected by 5 February 2017.

The specialty

Guidelines continue their course

Clinical practice guidelines developed with the Society’s working groups are being rolled out steadily. Several sessions of the next edition will be devoted to them.

After the congress

The content stays open

Session recordings and e-posters remain available, and FMC certificates can be downloaded by registered participants.

The Maison de la dermatologie

A place for the specialty’s bodies to work and meet, the Maison de la dermatologie is the Paris anchor where guidelines, reports and major dossiers are prepared. It is where working groups convene, where texts meant to set the standard are written, and where scientific partnerships take shape. The news born there feeds the congress: topics worked on during the year reappear, a few months later, in the JDP sessions.

Following the news all year round

Between editions, information flows through the usual channels of the French Society of Dermatology: newsletters, publications and regional meetings. The major events — the congress, thematic days, funding calls — are announced months in advance. For teams preparing a piece of work, it is the best way not to miss a deadline.
